You've got that certain something It's in your smile, it's in the way you move You've got that certain something You turn me on, yes you do Come on, come on, come on now You know you made me your fool You get my love, love, love fall like rain on you You've got that certain something, Short skirt, legs long and brown You've got that certain something, Can't think straight, you really knock me out, Better get ready, better get set You know I'm coming soon You get my love, love, love fall like rain on you When it rains, you're gonna get wet, you bet And when the sun is shining, I can see you smile I'm gonna make your garden grow My love gonna make your garden grow, woh-oh Wo-oh-oh Wo-oh, you're on my mind Wo-oh-oh I think about you all the time Come on, come on, come on now You know you made me your fool You get my love love love fall like rain on you Yes my love love love gonna fall like rain on you

I’ve been searching round, I’ve been hunting high and low Now I’ve made up my mind, sure am ready to roll I’m gonna head out down that open road, Nothing gonna get in my way I’ll get up early in the morning, I can hear the highway calling I’ll be rolling come the break of day I’ll find a place to put a smile on my face Where the weather and the folks is warm and kind That’s where peace of mind ain’t so hard to find. Pack up your troubles babe Pick your bikinis and choose your shoes You know the time got rolled around, only one way to lose these ramblin' blues We gotta head out down that open road, There’s nothing gonna get in our way We get up early in the morning, warm ocean calling We’ll be rolling come the break of day We’ll have our fun, stretched out in the sun Where the weather and the folks is warm and kind That’s where peace of mind ain’t so hard to find. Rollin’ and tumblin’ Planes, trains and automobiles Or just out walking in the summer rain Baby, you know how good that feels Let’s all head out down that open road, There’s nothing gonna get in our way We get up early in the morning, I can hear them boat drinks calling We’ll be rolling come the break of day Standing at ease, just shooting the breeze Where the weather and the folks is warm and kind That’s where peace of mind ain’t so hard to find. That’s where peace of mind ain’t so hard to find. That’s where peace of mind ain’t so hard to find.

9 miles to Rosedale, I'm gonna see my baby tonight So long since I seen my baby, Lordy Lord I hope she gonna do me right Drink 2 pints of beer, take a shot of Tanqueray gin Drinking, thinking about my baby, Lordy Lord see the state I'm in Easy Rider, don't you share that stuff around Just 9 miles from Rosedale, Lordy Lord don't want no hand-me-downs

Been a company man, working half my life Like some loyal old dog, just a-wagging my tail But I can't can't get ahead, bosses won't pay me no mind I want to make a change, looks like it’s time for me to bail So, don’t come out trying to whistling me home, maybe throwing me a bone You find you lost the best old dog you ever had Too little, too late, too bad! Woman, you know I fell in love with you Don't give you no reason, to break all the rules Well your secrets out now, the whole world knows Don't you be taking me for some kind of fool If you come out a-calling my name, Saying maybe, baby, maybe things can change, Well, I'm afraid you done lost the best chance you ever had It's too little, too late, too bad! Maybe for the very first time, I'm gonna make my move Maybe I'll fall right flat on my face, but at least I got to choose, oh... Oh and buddy, I stuck with you through the good times and the bad Spent everything I had, when you needed a fresh start But when I needed you, you shut me out cold Left me lost and wandering, you really broke my heart If you ever find yourself low down and short of friends And reach out to me wanting to make amends Man, You'll find you've lost the best friend you ever had Too little, too late, too bad! Too little, too late, too bad!

Journeyman 03:34
Driving through the night, window open wide, breathe the cool night air Said I’m driving through the night, Working through the day Driving through the night, Working through the day Travelling light Making my own way I’m a journeyman, always on the move, I’m a journeyman I’m a journeyman, Come see me while you can Hard times now, not much work around, I got to move on from town to town Beg, steal or borrow Just to make it through Beg, steal or borrow Just to make it through Maybe tomorrow, I’ll be coming home to you I’m a journeyman, always on the move, I’m a journeyman I’m a journeyman, Come see me while you can Through the driving rain, Under the burning sun, Through the driving rain, Under the burning sun, Lord knows I’ve served my time Between the highway and the railroad line I’m a journeyman, always on the move, I’m a journeyman I’m a journeyman, Come see me while you can Find a street corner, maybe a juke joint, maybe just the side of the road You set out in the evening, Have a drink and dance your cares away Said you can set out in the evening, Have a drink and dance your cares away I’ll play the blues and sing for you Then I’ll be on my way I’m a journeyman, always on the move, I’m a journeyman I’m a journeyman, Come see me while you can

Lost 03:44
I’ve lost my thread, I’m being unravelled I’ve lost my train of thought, who’d have thought That I’d have travelled So far, so slow So far, does it show? I’ve lost the plot, I’m being misdirected, I have no frame of mind, I don’t mind But it’s always when you least expect it You’re so close, but I’m all alone The TV’s on, but there’s really nobody home I’m lost in space, I’m floating through the heavens above I’ve lost my appetite, but that’s alright, If music is the food of love Of lovers and of fools, play on play on Cause really I’ve got nothing else to lose

All Alone 05:14
I've got nothing to say to you Oh, I've said it all before So you can keep your one last chance You can keep your one last dance Can't you see I'd rather be all alone You don't love me anymore So why don't you just walk on out that door Instead of hanging around Just keeping me tied down Can't you see girl, our love just don't work anymore So why don't you just dry your eyes and say goodbye for the last time Ask me why, why for the last time Then I'll be gone, back on my own Can't you see I'd rather be all alone You know you've cheated and you've lied You tell your friends about all the tears you've cried Well that suits me just fine Go on, stop wasting all my time Can't you see girl, our love just don't work anymore So why don't you just dry your eyes and say goodbye for the last time Ask me why, why for the last time Then I'll be gone, back on my own Can't you see I'd rather be all alone Then you come on crying to me Singing Oh daddy what can we do If you don't know by girl How many times can I tell you, you, you Go on, get out, set me free Don't you know girl, can't you see Our love just don't work anymore So why don't you just dry your eyes and say goodbye for the last time Ask me why, why for the last time Then I'll be gone, back on my own Can't you see I'd rather be all alone

Woke up this morning, ghost of a dream on my mind I gotta feeling, been coming on strong, now I’m scared to even close my eyes I come up on the West side, sure I was looking for an easy ride Just give me a bottle, and my guitar, sit back and let it slide But Oh… Can’t eat these words And Oh… Can’t drink these songs And that’s a low down crying shame I got them low down dirty crying shame blues Yeah that’s a low down crying shame I got them low down dirty crying shame blues Rolled on down the highway, tried to leave all my troubles behind Just another day older, looking over my shoulder, still looking for some peace of mind Come on over to the East side, bright lights shining in my eyes But I got robbed, lost my job, worse I think I lost my pride And Oh… Can’t eat these words And Oh… Can’t drink these songs And that’s a low down crying shame I got them low down dirty crying shame blues Yeah that’s a low down crying shame I got them low down dirty crying shame blues Looking slick in a shirt and tie, cut my hair, start talking right Hush the demons, walk the line, push the dreams to the back of my mind Working hard down on the South side, but now I just can’t believe my eyes Here’s a politician, multi-millionaire, making money just for telling lies Oh… they talk about austerity Oh… but that’s just for you and me Oh… They got champagne and caviar Oh… They’re smoking big fat cigars And that’s a low down crying shame I got them low down dirty crying shame blues Yeah that’s a low down crying shame I got them low down dirty crying shame blues Well did you ever get up in the morning feel like a rat in a cage We gotta shake it, we gotta break it, sure it's time for us to rearrange Head on back to the north side, but it's the same everywhere I go Papers selling hate, dividing the state, poison in our very soul And Oh… Can’t eat these words And Oh… Can’t drink these songs And that’s a low down crying shame I got them low down dirty crying shame blues Yeah that’s a low down crying shame I got them low down dirty crying shame blues And that’s low down, so low down, low down I got them low down dirty crying shame blues And that’s low down, so low down, low down I got them low down dirty crying shame blues

What makes it blue? What makes it real? What makes it reach, right inside you And change the way you feel? It’s not the colour of your skin, Or all the hard luck places you’ve been... What makes it blue? It’s when it makes me think of you When I think about the road we walked When I think about all the hours we talked And I think about the dreams we shared And how life just couldn’t compare And when you left, how it broke my heart Looking back I see that’s when my life fell apart What makes it blue? It’s when it makes me think about you

about

The blues exploded all around the world, evolving in so many directions over the last century. It's always been a great inspiration. When I started to tell my own stories in songs, I was naturally drawn to the imagery and the sounds of the blues. These 10 songs each take a different era or style as a start point but obviously find their own rhythm and feel.

The album was conceived over the summer of 2019 while I was living in a motorhome and travelling around Europe and the UK with my wife Bev and our 2 whippets. Recorded October/November 2019.
